Living in New Mexico has it’s share of dangers, and not just the kind that slither and slide.
Be Prepared
One way to be prepared for certain dangers is to carry and have access to a firearm at all times. I’ve been an assistant CCW instructor for 7 years, I’ve been involved in personal self defense instruction and martial arts for over 25 years. I don’t take the justified use of firearms lightly, but I don’t stand for a lack of preparedness in myself and suggest others make the same consideration.
However, I’ve had my share of health issues, (and long visits to the VA), as I’ve gotten older and find that it’s not as easy as it once was to carry full size and full time and fully prepared for every thinkable event! I now rely more heavily on “active response” bags, or go bags as we used to call them. Anyway, to help with some recently worsening back problems I made the decision to off load more of my gear to the bag and then started looking for just the RIGHT holster…
I’ve tried SO MANY holsters. I’ve fell for gimmicks! I’ve purchased something just because it had an interesting design. Or it had a great youtube action video to go with it or just had all the newest bells and whistles. So I’ve genuinely used a few holsters that were highly rated technically and for comfort that didn’t really meet my expectations. Certainly I’ve purchased some good holsters, but in my search for a REALLY good all day comfort holster I had to make my own!
